Though not a member of Africa’s “Big 5” (due to its lack of trophy value to early hunters), the hippo is responsible for more deaths in Africa than any other large animal. Highly protective of their territory, possessing a bite that can cut a crocodile in half, and able to reach speeds over 20 mph, the hippo’s generally relaxed appearance masked one of Africa’s most dangerous animals!
